- Product Description
Benchtop AC Power Source | Compact Variable AC Supply for Labs & Test Benches
Most variable AC supplies are too big for a small bench. They take up half the workspace and need their own cooling clearance. The Benchtop AC Power Source is different. It's about the size of a large textbook – fits neatly next to your oscilloscope and soldering station. We designed this for people who don't need 5kVA of power, but still want clean adjustable AC for small projects. Maybe you're testing a new power supply, running a small motor, or simulating line voltage for a sensor board. This unit handles all of that without hogging your bench. It's fanless up to about 60% load. No whining noise. Just a clean 300W to 3kVA adjustable AC source that sits there and does its job. We've shipped hundreds of these to universities, small repair shops, and engineers working from home.

Benchtop AC Power Source Main Features
- Dual voltage range – 0‑150V and 0‑300V (L‑N). Toggle switch on the front panel.
- Frequency range – 45‑500Hz. Covers 50Hz, 60Hz, 400Hz avionics, and motor test frequencies.
- Output protection – Over‑current, short circuit, over‑temperature. Resets automatically when the fault clears.
- Digital readout – Shows voltage, current, or frequency. One display, selectable by button.

Why Choose ACSOON Benchtop AC Power Source?
- Small footprint – Fits on a crowded bench. You won't need to move your scope to make room.
- Quiet – Fanless up to 60% load. At full load, a small fan turns on, but it's still quieter than most lab gear.
- Simple controls – Voltage knob, frequency knob, output on/off. That's all. No menu diving.
- Isolated output – Transformer‑isolated. No ground loops when you connect your DUT and scope at the same time.
Benchtop AC Power Source Application Areas
- University teaching labs – Students use it for rectifier circuits, transformer experiments, and AC motor demos. Tough enough to survive beginners.
- Sensor testing – Power AC sensors, flow meters, and industrial transducers that need clean 24VAC or 115VAC at 50/60Hz.
- Small motor repair – Run fractional HP universal and shaded‑pole motors for break‑in or diagnosis.
- Production test fixtures – Mount it inside a small test box. Operators dial up the voltage and the part gets tested.

Our Services

Quality Control
- Every unit tested – 2 hours at 80% load. We check for heating, drift, and noise.
- Output verified – Voltage and frequency accuracy checked at 10 points. Record kept internally.
- Isolation test – 2kV between input and output for 1 minute. Leakage under 5mA.
- Final human check – Front panel, knobs, display, and fan operation. Real person signs off.
R&D Results
- Size reduction – First prototype was 40% larger. We redesigned the transformer and board layout to shrink it.
- Fan noise complaint – Early version had a fan that ran all the time. Engineers hated it. Now it only runs when needed.
- Input voltage switch – Added a physical switch on the rear after too many customers asked for dual voltage capability.
- Knob guards – Added small guards around the knobs so they don't get bumped when you reach past them.

Packaging and Transportation
- Shipped from Xi'an – Woodern carton with foam inserts. Small box fits on any courier's shelf.

FAQ |
---
Q1: Can I use this to test 400Hz avionics?
A: Yes. The 500Hz top end covers 400Hz easily. At 400Hz, the power rating drops to about 80% of the 50Hz rating. A 1kVA unit gives you about 800VA at 400Hz. Plenty for most avionics benches.
Q2: Is the output grounded or floating?
A: Floating. The secondary of the isolation transformer has no center tap. You can ground one side or leave it floating. We ship it with a grounding screw if you want to tie the neutral to ground.
Q3: What's the difference between this and a variac?
A: A variac just scales the input voltage. This unit actively regulates – output stays at your set voltage even if the wall voltage changes. Plus you get adjustable frequency and isolation. A variac does none of that.
Q4: Can I run a 2kVA load on the 1kVA model?
A: No. It will trip on over‑current. If you need 2kVA, buy the 2kVA model. Don’t try to push a smaller unit over its limit – it will shut down to protect itself.
Q5: What's the lead time from Xi'an?
A: 25 days for the 1kVA and 2kVA models. The 3kVA model takes 30 days because we build the transformer to order.
