| A: Yes, but only on one phase. The other two phases will sit idle. The unit will still regulate correctly, but you're wasting capacity. If you only ever run single‑phase loads, buy our single‑phase model – it's cheaper. |
| Q2: What's the difference between this and a variable frequency drive (VFD)? |
| A: A VFD outputs PWM with high harmonics. This unit outputs a pure sine wave. That matters for testing motors at low speed (where PWM causes heating) or for powering sensitive electronics. For just spinning a fan, a VFD is fine. For measurement, use this. |
