A 90kVA unit will run them, but you're close to the limit on a hot day with all the cabin loads on. The 120kVA 400Hz GPU gives you headroom.It's the same physical size as our 90kVA unit – same cabinet, same cable reel options – just with higher‑rated IGBTs and a bigger transformer. Quality Control

  • Every unit load‑tested – 120kVA for 2 hours, then 180kVA (150%) for 60 seconds. We record the temps.

  • Output waveform captured – Screenshot at full load. We keep it in a folder with the serial number.

  • Thermal scan – Covers off, full load. No hot spots over 100°C allowed.

  • Cable test – Output cable assembly hi‑potted and continuity‑checked. We make the cables in‑house.

R&D Results

  • Customer request – An airline wanted 120kVA but didn’t want a bigger cabinet. We upgraded the IGBTs and transformer while keeping the same chassis. Took two design iterations.

  • Fan noise reduced – Used larger, slower‑spinning fans. Moves the same air, half the noise.

  • Input filter simplified – The 12‑pulse rectifier already keeps harmonics low. Removed an external filter that wasn’t needed. Saved cost and reduced failure points.

  • Added a second ground lug – Some military users asked for two independent ground connections. Easy to add.

Q1: Do I really need 120kVA for a 737 MAX?
A: Depends on your configuration. For a MAX 8 with standard seating and no extra galley, 90kVA works. If you have lie‑flat seats, multiple ovens, and the full IFE package, you’ll want the 120kVA. Check your aircraft’s load sheet.
Q2: Can this unit be used for APU starts?
A: Yes. It has 150% for 60 seconds and 200% for 30 seconds. That’s enough for any APU start on a narrow‑body or midsize wide‑body.
Q3: Does it replace a diesel GPU?
A: No, it’s electric. You plug it into the grid. If you need a battery‑powered or diesel GPU, we offer those too – ask sales.
Q4: What’s the lead time from Xi’an?
A: Usually 4‑5 weeks. We keep a few in stock. Ask before ordering.
Q5: Can I get a trailer‑mounted version?
A: Yes. Order the -T suffix. Adds a towable chassis with lights, brakes, and pneumatic tires.
