- Product Description
Most 400Hz GPUs are overkill for regional aircraft. You don't need a 90kVA behemoth for an ATR or a CRJ200. So we built the 45kVA 400Hz GPU – same MIL‑STD‑704 power quality, same reliability, but half the size and about 40% cheaper. It fits through a standard door, tows behind a golf cart, and runs off a 63A 400V outlet.
We've shipped about 200 of these to regional airports in Indonesia, Brazil, and Canada. They work.

45kVA 400Hz GPU Main Features
12‑pulse input – keeps harmonics low, no need for expensive input filters.
Auto voltage compensation – senses voltage drop in the cable, adds up to 10V at the aircraft plug.
Diagnostic LED – three lights: Power, Output OK, Fault. No confusing error codes.
Cable reel – optional manual crank with 25m of 1/0 cable, MIL‑C‑24368 compliant.

Why Choose ACSOON 45kVA 400Hz GPU?
Size matters – 800mm wide, 600mm deep. Rolls right into a cargo elevator.
No derating – full 45kVA at 50°C ambient. We tested it in a shipping container in July.
Simple to operate – one knob to set voltage compensation (0‑10V), one start/stop button. That’s it.
Sips power – 92% efficient, draws under 55A from a 400V supply at full load.
45kVA 400Hz GPU Application Areas
Regional airline line maintenance – overnight checks, avionics upgrades, battery charging.
FBOs with mixed fleets – powers anything from a King Air to an Embraer 175.
Military training bases – T‑6 Texan, PC‑21, other turboprop trainers use 400Hz for instruments.
Helicopter operators – some large helis (AW139, H175) need 400Hz for rotor brake and avionics.

Our Services

Quality Control
Every unit load‑tested – 45kVA into a resistive load for 2 hours, then 56kVA for 10 minutes.
Output waveform captured – we store a screenshot from a Fluke 435 for each unit (available on request).
Cable continuity check – the output cable assembly is hi‑potted and continuity tested before shipping.
Thermal camera scan – we run the unit with covers off and look for hot spots. None allowed.
R&D Results
Learned the hard way – early units had fan filters that clogged in dusty airports. Now we use a cyclonic separator (no filter to clean).
Simplified the control board – removed a bunch of capacitors that were failing after 5 years. Now it’s 30% fewer components.
Added a mechanical interlock – you can’t plug in the 400Hz cable unless the output is off. Prevents arcing.
Improved the cable exit – moved it from the side to the bottom. Less strain when the cart is parked close to the aircraft.

Packaging and Transportation
Bolted to a skid – the unit is strapped to a 1200x800mm plywood skid, wrapped in stretch film.
Cable reel separate – shipped in its own cardboard box (about 25kg).
Manual included – printed on waterproof paper. Also a QR code to a video walkthrough.
Export packing – optional plywood crate for sea freight (adds 80kg, $120).
After‑Sales Service
24 months on the power module.
6 months on the cable and plug (ramp abuse is real).
Email support: we usually reply within 4 hours during Asian business hours.
Spare parts stocked in Miami (for Americas) and Singapore (for Asia‑Pacific).

Qualification Certification
CE – self‑declared, test reports available;MIL‑STD‑704F – we have a third‑party test report confirming output meets the standard;ISO 9001:2015 – our Xi’an factory;IP54 Grade

FAQ |
---
Q1: Can I use this to start a 737 APU?
A: No. A 737 needs 90kVA for its APU start. This is 45kVA. It’s for smaller aircraft. If you have 737s, buy our GPU400-330090.
Q2: What’s the difference between this and a 28V DC GPU?
A: This outputs 115V 400Hz AC, not DC. Many turboprops and regional jets use 400Hz for their avionics and some systems. They still need 28V for battery charging – that’s a separate unit (or our combi model).
Q3: How far can the aircraft be from the GPU?
A: With the standard 25m cable, about 20m nose‑to‑GPU. For longer reach, we offer a 40m cable (heavier, needs a motorized reel).
Q4: Can I mount this on a trailer instead of a skid?
A: Yes. Add $800 for the towable chassis with 12″ pneumatic tires, lights, and a parking brake. Order as GPU400-330045-T.
Q5: What’s the lead time?
A: Skid units ship in 4 weeks. Trailer units in 6 weeks. We keep a few in stock in Xi’an for urgent orders – ask our sales team.
