- Product Description
High Altitude 400Hz GPU | Ground Power Unit for Airports Above 2,000 Meters

Regular GPUs derate & overheat over 2000m from thin air.
Poor performance for high-altitude airports: Mexico City(2600m), El Alto(4000m).
- Reinforced oversized cooling + altitude-specific customized components
- Full rated 60kVA output stable: Sea Level ~ 4500m
- Zero derating | Zero overheating
Successfully operated at airports in Andes, Tibetan Plateau & Ethiopian highlands.
High Altitude 60kVA 400Hz GPU keeps full power up to 4500m without derating or overheating, ideal for plateau & highland airports across Andes, Tibet and Ethiopia.High altitude GPU, 60kVA 400Hz ground power unit, highland airport GPU

At high altitude, air is thin. Fans move less air. Cooling suffers. Standard GPUs can overheat or derate above 2,000 meters. That's a problem if your airport sits at 2,600m (Mexico City) or 4,000m (El Alto, Bolivia). The High Altitude 400Hz GPU was designed for mountains. We oversized the cooling system, selected components rated for lower dielectric strength (air gets thinner, arcing risk goes up), and adjusted the thermal protection thresholds. It delivers full 60kVA from sea level up to 4,500m. No derating. No overheating. We've supplied these to airports in the Andes, the Tibetan Plateau, and the Ethiopian highlands. They run.

High Altitude 400Hz GPU Application Areas
- High elevation commercial airports – Mexico City (2,200m), Bogotá (2,600m), Quito (2,800m), Lhasa (3,500m).
- Mountain military bases – C‑130 operations in the Andes or Himalayas.
- Mining airstrips – Many mines sit above 3,000m. This GPU handles the thin air.
- Helicopter bases in high terrain – Rescue and transport ops in the Alps or Rockies.
High Altitude 400Hz GPU Main Features
Altitude‑rated fans – Larger diameter, higher static pressure than standard units.
Derated thermal limits – Software adjusted for lower cooling efficiency at altitude.
Sealed contactors – Prevents arcing in low‑pressure air.
Output derating curve – None. Stays at 60kVA all the way to 4,500m.
Why Choose ACSOON High Altitude 400Hz GPU?
Full power at altitude – 60kVA at 4,500m. Most GPUs lose 10‑20% up there.
Oversized fans – Moves more air to compensate for thin atmosphere.
Higher voltage spacing – Internal clearances increased. No arcing.
Same simple controls – One button, one dial. No altitude adjustments needed

Quality Control
Altitude chamber test – Every unit runs in a low‑pressure chamber at 4,500m equivalent for 2 hours. Full load.
Thermal check – Core temperatures logged. Must stay within limits.
Arc test – High voltage applied at low pressure. No breakdown.
Final burn‑in – Sea level for 2 hours, then altitude chamber for 1 hour.

R&D Results
Fan selection – Tried standard fans first. They stalled at altitude. Switched to high‑static‑pressure fans. Problem solved.
Transformer design – Increased turns insulation. Prevents corona discharge.
Customer feedback – An airport in Bolivia asked for a visual altitude derating indicator. Added a simple LED that lights above 3,500m. (It's not a derating – the unit still works – just a reminder.)
Software tweak – Adjusted over‑temp threshold based on ambient pressure sensor. Unit can detect thin air and adjust protection.

FAQ
Q1: Will a standard GPU work at 3,000m?
A: Sometimes, but not reliably. Standard units are rated to 2,000m max. Above that, cooling is compromised. You may see nuisance over‑temp trips or reduced lifespan. This unit was designed for altitude.
Q2: Do I need to adjust anything for altitude?
A: No. The unit senses barometric pressure internally and adjusts fan speed and thermal limits automatically. Just plug it in and run it.
Q3: Can I use this at sea level?
A: Yes. Works fine. The fans will run slower because the air is thicker. No harm.
Q4: What about 90kVA?
A: We have a 90kVA high‑altitude version – GPU400‑330090‑HA. Same altitude rating. Ask sales.
Q5: Lead time from Xi'an?
A: 4‑5 weeks. High‑altitude fans and pressure sensors are special order.
