60V 20A DC Power Supply | Adjustable Switching Bench Supply for High‑Power Projects

If you need more than 30V or more than 10A, a linear bench supply becomes a problem. It's huge, heavy, and turns half the input power into heat. That's why we made the 60V 20A DC Power Supply – a switching design that still delivers clean enough power for 95% of jobs. It's not as quiet as a linear supply (that's physics), but at 50mV ripple, it's fine for microcontrollers, relays, LED drivers, and most sensors. If you're doing audio or RF, buy our linear ADC‑3010 instead. For everything else, this is smaller, lighter, and half the price. We sell a lot of these to EV conversion shops, battery test labs, and industrial maintenance crews. They like the 20A output and the fact that it fits on a shelf without a forklift.

60V 20A DC Power Supply Main Features

  • CV/CC mode auto‑crossover – LED indicator tells you which mode is active.
  • Output enable button – red when off, green when on. No accidental output when connecting leads.
  • Adjustable OVP – user‑set over‑voltage trip, protects your DUT if the supply fails.
  • Temperature‑controlled fan – quiet at low load, speeds up at high current. Not silent, but bearable.

Why Choose ACSOON 60V 20A DC Power Supply?

  • Real 20A continuous – not just a peak rating. Tested for 2 hours at 20A, 60V.
  • Remote sense standard – terminals on the rear. Compensates for voltage drop in long test leads.
  • Over‑current protection that works – you set the limit, the supply holds it. No overshoot.

60V 20A DC Power Supply Application Areas

  • 48V battery charging – golf carts, solar banks, forklifts. Set voltage to 54.4V for LiFePO4, limit current to 10‑20A.
  • LED lighting test – high‑power COB arrays and drivers at 48‑54V.
  • Automotive electronics – bench test 48V mild‑hybrid components, DC‑DC converters, LED headlights.
  • Industrial coils & solenoids – hold‑in current testing, relay pull‑in verification.

Our Services

Quality Control
01

Quality Control

  • Every unit burned in – 2 hours at 60V/20A, ambient 35°C. We check temperature rise on the heatsink.
  • Ripple measured – at 10A, 20A, and no load. If it exceeds 60mV, the output filter gets reworked.
  • OVP test – we set OVP to 65V and ramp up voltage. Trip must occur within 0.5V.
  • Calibration – voltage and current measured at 5 points against a Fluke 8846A. Sticker attached.

R&D Results

  • Remote sense circuit – first version had a delay that caused oscillation with long cables. Added a 100nF cap on the sense inputs. Problem solved.

  • Fan curve – originally fan ran at 50% speed all the time. Too noisy. Now it starts at 10% and ramps up based on internal temp.

  • Customer request – added a "lock" function (press voltage knob for 3 seconds) so settings don't change when bumped.

FAQ

Q1: Why would I choose this over a linear 60V 20A supply?
A: Weight and cost. A linear 60V 20A supply  and costs 3x more. This is 4.5kg and affordable. But if you need <1mV ripple for audio or medical, buy linear. For batteries, LEDs, motors, this is fine.
Q2: Can I parallel two units for 40A?
A: Not directly. Each unit has its own sense and regulation. They will fight. But we offer a 40A version (ADC‑SW6040) – same voltage, double the current.
Q3: The fan gets loud at 20A. Is something wrong?
A: No. At 20A, the supply is dissipating about 80‑100W. The fan needs to move air. If it bothers you, run at 15A or put the supply on a shelf below your workbench.
Q4: Can I charge a 48V LiFePO4 battery?
A: Yes. Set voltage to 54.4V (16 cells x 3.4V), current to battery’s recommended charge rate (usually 0.5C). The supply will run in CC mode until voltage reaches 54.4V, then switch to CV and current will taper. Works fine.
Q5: Does it have reverse polarity protection?
A: No. If you connect the output backwards, you’ll blow the internal fuses (two 20A fuses, user‑replaceable). We don’t add a diode because it drops voltage and limits current. Just be careful.
